Grand Rapids Popcorn Company has had its roots in Michigan since 1944. We consider ourselves a “Mom and Pop” success story from selling kernels and supplies out of the family home to over 40 years of growth selling all over the country. Built by Roy and Rose Darling, Grand Rapids Popcorn Company started small but grew a community of customers in the Grand Rapids area in no time.

In the 1980’s, the Darling’s nephews, Tom and Charles Burns, took over the business and expanded production with concession supplies and freshly popped popcorn. While GR Popcorn was only meant to operate as a wholesale business, the demand for fresh popcorn from customers required a retail store.

These days, you can find Grand Rapids Popcorn handmade gifts, supplies, and crunchy popcorn flavors all over the state of Michigan and even beyond. (We even sell our Michigan Made Gift featuring some of the best products made in the state, like Devon’s Salt Water Taffy, Rasch Family Orchards Maple Syrup, and Shadowland Honey.) What’s even more special is that we remain family owned and operated to this day with the third generation of Burns working hard at the business full time.
